After reading Mach-Horus' journal, "Death Note's" and childhood memories", I was sickened. I decided to look up some stuff myself and found a case called the "Manga Murderer". Quite honestly I was even more sickened by this, even if this was a prank. It would be even worse if it was otherwise.

However, like Horus' entry presents, this is not the first, "Death Note" related incident. Maybe I have not been paying attention, but I've noticed a large response in the fan-base of Death Note. There are even people out there designating themselves detectives and giving themselves letters, claiming that they can solve this "Manga Murderer" case.

Of course then there are those who supported the bad guys in the show, and would show their support in real life. This is what disturbes me the most.

Real or fake, this "Manga Murder" case could pose some very real problems. If masses of people support the fake "kira" to a high enough level, then what's to stop them from supporting the real life "counter-part". Not only that, but there could be a possibility of people following this lead and kiliing others as well. This whole thing could spread out of proportion.

Maybe I'm over-reacting. But for some reason, this fan-base disturbs me more than anything else. I'll probably have more on this later.
